Netscape Navigator 1.0

On December 15, 1994, Netscape Communications Corporation released the Netscape Navigator 1.0 web browser. Netscape Navigator 1.0 was the first commercial web browser, although this particular version was free for non-commercial use. In the mid-1990s became Netscape Navigator the most popular web browser.

Netscape Navigator 1.0 included new enhancements and features such as modem speed optimization, security considerations, document and image-handling performance (JPEG image decompression), new user interface features (extended toolbar and enhanced bookmark, etc.), helper applications and, support of HTML 3.0 features (tables, color control for text, hyperlinks, and backgrounds).
